Parent Information Point Software

In any kiosk project, there is always the need for professional content which takes into account all the well known kiosk concepts for usability, looks great, is reliable and does the job it was designed for. Infact a softwareplatform is one of the most important success factors for an information point, potentially making or breaking it. Realising this, we have developed a special software application for CIS and Early Years called Parent Information Point, or PIP. We have taken a framework approach to this software package, where all of the underlying functionality and complex features are already built (the framework). Completing a CIS project is simply a matter of populating this framework with your specific needs. This framework approach dramatically increases the success factor of the project, whilst at the same time rapidly speeding up the project deployment; simply, most of the underlying work has already been done. The feature list is based on all of the conversations we have already had with CIS and Early Years departments, but key components include an Attract Loop, the opening screen which a parent or carer would see first. It is animated, and is designed to catch the eye. The intention is for parents and carers to be attracted to and use the information point. We have also developed a Structured Core Menu System which both guides the user to the resource required, and remains available throughout the whole session, making navigation flexible and easy with no 'computer' skills necessary. Our research also shows that Telephony is an important requirement also. Our solution includes a modern VoIP handset. Calls to one of a preset list (that’s your list) of service providers can be made directly from the kiosk at the touch of a button; this is the so-called warm-phone function. We also provide Portal Pages to external websites, again these are your choice; for example there may be a locally produced CIS websites which would form part of the selection of portal sites. PIP runs in the SiteKiosk environment, one of the two most globally accepted platforms for kiosk software development.

Overall, Parent information Point software is a fully fledged software platform specially develeoped for CIS and Early Years applications where the content to be added is all that need be thought about. Uploading the content is equally simple.
