Bournemouth Council invests in Parent Information Point

Bournemouth Council has deployed 3 Parent Information Point systems in their Boscombe's Children's centre. Youth Information & Guidance Centre and Littledown Youth Centre. kiosks4business worked with Bournemouth Early Years and Youth Service, through the Children's Information Service to create a unique look and feel for the machines which have been installed since May 2007. A unique attract loop for the Early Years systems has a Polish attract loop specifically aimed at the town's growing Polish community. Carole Ward, Children's Information Service Manager, commented "It has been a pleasure to work with Sequoia who have been open to ideas and suggestions which have then been incorporated into their work to meet our needs. We have found the kiosks a positive means to deliver information to our young people, parents and residents of Bournemouth". Terry Husher, Youth Leader at Littledown Youth Centre adds "The kiosk has been a great focal point, it has brought young people together as they congregate around it and discuss hot topics like sport, homework and music. It can develop friendships in a non threatening manner". The official launch for the system took place at Boscombe Children's Centre on 13th July 2007.

A Suveypoint has since been added to the pilot scheme at Bournemouth and a Youth centre roll out is now under serious discussion for mid 2008
